The Atlantic Shackletons marked a milestone occasion with their inaugural Gala Ball at the Royal Marine Hotel on Saturday, 16 May, bringing together supporters, guests and distinguished figures for an evening of celebration, heritage and ambition.
The event was made especially memorable by the attendance of the Hon. Alexandra Shackleton, granddaughter of legendary explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton, and Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, the first person to sail solo non-stop around the world. Their presence added a powerful sense of history and inspiration to the evening.
Guests gathered to celebrate the Atlantic Shackletons’ vision, which draws on the enduring spirit of courage, resilience and exploration associated with the Shackleton name. The Gala Ball also provided an opportunity to highlight the organisation’s future ambitions and to thank those who have supported its journey so far.
Set against the elegant backdrop of the Royal Marine Hotel, the evening featured dinner, conversation and reflection on the legacy of exploration, leadership and teamwork. The inaugural event was warmly received and is expected to become a landmark occasion in the Atlantic Shackletons’ calendar.
