“Inspired by the life, legacy and leadership of Sir Ernest Shackleton, our mission is to build a global research, exploration and education platform to create a movement of ocean health advocates.”

Leadership

“Shackleton excelled at selecting and bringing together a varied group of individuals to work toward a common goal. He was skilled at understanding human beings and gave each one the unique motivation they needed to perform at their best. Shackleton was an expert at working with limited resources in all ways and being able to achieve order in chaotic environments to ensure success. Most of all, he was someone who put his men first before himself, led by example, and earned the trust needed to survive.”

With our oceans in crisis, we need strong leadership to drive rapid transformation, deliver effective results and inspire long-term survival. Shackleton’s leadership style and values are a core benchmark for crisis management: Optimism / Courage / Idealism / Resilience

If Shackleton was alive today:

Education & Youth Development: to inspire the next generation of young people to become ocean advocates

Science & Technology: to better our understanding of our oceans and the impact climate change is having

Exploration & Adventure: to push the boundaries of engineering and technology to safeguard our oceans in the future
