our people

our people

Our founding group is a catalyst for everything Shackleton Globally and a shared adventure going forward.

It’s an extraordinary volunteer-based group of 25 with a broad background and geographic spread. In addition to seed-funders, they include members of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society, the Explorers Club in New York, UK and Norwegian interests where the Endurance was built; Indian and Asian interests and of course, Ireland, where Shackleton was born.

Brought together by our Founders Mensun Bound, Enda O’Coineen, and Joanne Yellowlees, the Atlantic Shackleton Global Foundation have 3 Key patrons: Albert II, Prince of Monaco, The Hon. Alexandra Shackleton and Richard Garriott, President of the Explorer’s Club.
